I have to admit it's been hard to train since late January - the dark and cold seem to make me want to hibernate, but last Saturday it was actually just warm enough to run outside a bit, and what a difference that makes. It felt wonderful! I'll run again this morning and believe me, I'll enjoy every step! With the benefit coming up tomorrow, there will be a lot more time for training after that, so no excuses. The 5K is May 1, the Relay is June 12 and the climb is July 11, so there's no time left to waist to be in tip-top shape for each.
I found a new gadget at Body-n-Sole Sports Last Saturday...it was a bit pricey, but I think it will help me with oxygen restriction training. It's called "Power Lung" (http://www.powerlung.com/) and I'm very excited about using it. It's designed to help us train to use oxygen more efficiently, which is definitely needed during a high altitude climb. If you're a runner, walker, singer, climber, or all of the above, this is touted to be the latest and greatest training tool to get oxygen into your muscles quickly and efficiently.
